Waht you are experiencing is one fo the temporary side effects of rapid
weight loss. The fat breaks down, and releases large amounts of hormones
into your system. That is what is happeneing to you. There is not much you
can do about it. Just let your family know that you know this is an issue,
and that it is temporary. When your weight loss starts to slow, it gets
much better. Hang in there...give your family a big hug!!

hiya, i have a slightly different take on your situation...about 4 mos post
op i had to see my ob-gyn because i was getting hot flashes, night sweats,
was very irratable and getting horrid migraines (i had a hysterectomy 5
years ago and was on premarin)...so i figured that with my weight loss i
needed to decrease my estrogen but come to find out that fat cells process
estrogen, therefore with weight loss i actually needed a higher amount of
estrogen - unfortunately estrogen can make migraines worse - so my doc
switched me to estratest which is a combo of estrogen with testosterone and
it has worked wonderfully until about the last month or so...i'm getting
hot flashes, night sweats again - no migraines or irritability but i've
made an appt to get my hormones evaluated by her.
the other post'ers made good points tho about the after effects of surgery,
your body is going through MAJOR changes and it is known to cause the
symptoms you talked about.
i would suggest seeing your ob-gyn and seeing if your hrt needs some fine
tuning...
good luck!
