Question:
My consultation appt. for my panniculectomy is tomorrow!!

I have my consultation appt. for panniculectomy surgery tomorrow afternoon, what kind of questions should I ask the surgeon and what will he ( be doing at this appt?do they take the pictures for the insurance company at this visit? the surgeon's nurse told me they are scheduling into November for surgerys, which would be perfct for me providing my insurance approves it, my pcp told me that there shouldn't be any problem with the insurance company approving it, so well see, any help letting me know what they will be doing at this appt. will really help me out I am so nervous, I feel like I am starting all over again like I did with the wls..    — bikerchic (posted on September 15, 2002)

I would ask 1. What type of cut is he making and do you have any choice in that. 2. How long is the hosptial stay. 3. Any tubes he uses, like a cath. 4. Recovery time, time off work (if ap).5.what is the incision closed with, staples or stiches that dissolve. 6. Details about any drains you will have. 7. pain meds he uses 8. activity level 9. clothing requirements after, like binders ect. 10. Does he do liposuction automatically. 11. how long before you can lift and how much. I'm having my surgery on Tuesday and wished I would of been more prepared. Good Luck!
