Question:
I am on a 3 week plateau!!
I will be 6 mos. out on 9.19.02 and have lost 71lbs., but now, the scale won't move!! I am eating more than before, but I don't think that I have stretched my pouch! Any suggestions? Did anyone else have the same problem? Will it just start falling off again? — Amy M. (posted on September 11, 2002)

hiya amy
that happened to me around 6 mos - i went into a 6 week plateau! and i
started getting nervous, because i was eating more and it was around
christmas...so i increased my protein, really watched the carbs, drank tons
of water and increased my exercise. i weighed in once a week and finally
after 6 loooong weeks i weighed in and boom, 4lbs was gone! it continued
like that until a month past my one year anniversary and now my weight loss
has stopped. (no biggie cuz i'm 5lbs UNDER goal!)
try not to weigh yourself more than 2x a month, increase protein, drop
carbs down, excercise (or change your exercise from like walking to
aerobics or bicycling or taebo..you get the idea) and make sure you are
meeting your water intake!
hang in there, it will pass!
feel free to email me anytime,
{hugs}

Hang in there! I have plateaued EVERY MONTH since I was 3 weeks post op.
Its very frustrating. But even with all the plateaus, I have still lost
118lbs in 10 months. I have about 30lbs to go and it has REALLY slowed down
to a crawl. I noticed at 6 months out the loss slowing down. Its normal.
Same advice as the other poster. Up protien, water and exercise and lower
your carbs. Seems to do the trick.
