Someone on here helped me once befor but I have since lost the "formula" to this math nightmare. I started out at 304 and would like to get to 150. I had surgery May 21 2002 and I am currently weighing in at 217. If anyone knows how to do this can ya help a sistah out> lol Thanks so much!!!~    — Sassy M. (posted on September 10, 2002)

If your original weight was 304 and your goal was 150, then your excess body weight is 154# for the purposes of this exercise. You've lost 304-217 or 93# so far (congratulations, by the way). 93/154 is 60%. So you have lost 60% of your excess body weight.

Got my subtraction wrong - you have lost 87 pounds which is 56% of your excess body weight. That's what happens when you try to subtract in your head after WLS (old fuzzy-brain *G*)

ok well i would do it like this 304 minus 150 = 154 i would say that is about 51% in excess body weight now if you lost 87 pounds to bring you down to 217 than i would find out what % of 304 is 87 pounds and that is about 29% lost so far so i would say that you still have 22% left to loose which is about 69 pounds and to confirm i would add 87 plus 69= that is 156 just 2 pounds more than you would like to loose now to do this all you need to do is take your total weight and subtract your excess weight and then minus the percent of the excess weight by your total weight

Wouldn't it be easier to go to the opening screen of this site and click on the box about calculating weight loss. The computer will do the work for you or am I missing something?
