I am just under 4 weeks post-op and I experienced the same
thing--especially in the morning. I find that if I drink a cup of hot tea
before I try to eat anything it helps tremendously. I drink an orange and
herb tea or Constant Comment (it's sort of an orange spice), both are made
by Bigelow and both can be purchased in decaf. I got the idea from other
people's posts on this website that herb tea really settles the
stomach---and it works! Good Luck!

I had it too - and it can be very discouraging. Some people get nausea for
the first few months. Sometimes not getting enough fluid causes it. You
might try recording what you eat and when (on paper or through Fitday.com)
to see if you're sensitive to milk products, getting enough protein and
liquids in, etc. Initially, the iron supplements upset my stomach. I
guess it could be any number of things, and it's quite common. I hope this
helps.

How does water taste? No matter the answer to that question, my answer to
you is to call your doc, describe exactly how much of what you ate/drank
and how well chewed it was. Get that "it's all your fault" out
of the way. If water tastes other than "ok", tell them.
Hopefully, they will schedule you for a scope (EGD), get an eyeball in
there, and either perform technical fix on the spot, or rx the meds you
need. Aside from that mysterious "frothing for no reason" that I
hear about (every now & then), there usually is a real reason for
feeling miserable. Personally, I never had a stricture, but was nauseated
about 15 min after all solid food and didn't feel fabulous after liquids. 6
miserable months while *I* was blamed for my problem. Of course, that PA
is no longer with my doc's office, because it was a mechanical problem,
easily fixed once diagnosed.

You might be eating or drinking too fast or too big of bites or drinks.
That happened to me at first. Too big of a drink (gulp) puts too much
pressure on the pouch and causes that sick feeling. Take small sips. Same
with food. Take smaller bites and chew, even space your bites and see if
that helps. Do Not eat and drink at the same time. Space your food from
your drinking. No drinking 30-45 before eating. No drinking 1 to 1 1/2 hrs
after eating.
I also find if the nausia presists try laying on your left side for a few
(15) minutes and that also helps. Good luck.

I AM NOW APPROX. 3 MONTHS POST OP AND FOR THE ENTIRE AT LEAST 2ND MONTH ALL
I DID WAS THROW UP I COULDNT UNDERSTAND IT BECAUSE SOMETIME I COULD HOLD
LIQUIDS DOWN AND SOME TIMES I COULD EVEN HOLD DOWN THOSE TINY LIPTON
NOODLES IN BROTH BUT MOST OF THE TIME I JUST THREW UP EVERYTHING AS SOON AS
IT HIT MY STOMACHE AND I KNEW I WAS DEHYDRATING BECAUSE I WAS CRAVING WATER
AND THEN OF COURSE I WOULD GULP IT TOO FAST AND THEN THR0W IT BACK UP- I
WENT THROUGH IT TOPO LONG BECAUSE I KNEW I NEEDED TO GO BACK TO MY SURGEON
WHICH WAS 2 HOURS AWAY AND HE HAD TOLD ME THEY WOULD GO DOWN MY THROAT WITH
A SCOPE CAMERA AND SEE IF THE OPENING BETWEEN THE STOMACHE AND INTESTINE IS
CLOSING UP FROM SCAR TISSUE AND MAY NEED TO BE DIALATED AND I WAS
TERRIFIED AND I CONTINUED TO PUT IT OFF BECAUSE OF FEAR BUT I FINALLY WENT
IN AND HAD IT DONE AND THAT WAS WHAT IT WAS- SHE SAID THAT IT WAS ALMOST
COMPLETELY CLOSED AND THE REASON THAT SOMETIMES I COULD EAT THE SOUP AND
SOMETIMES I COULDNT WAS BECAUSE IT CAN SPASM SOMETIMES AND CAUSE YOU TO
THROW UP WHEN THE OPENIN IS SO SMALL- SHE ALSO SAID IT IS A FAIRLY COMMON
PROBLEM AND HAPPENS TO APPROX 10% OF THE PATIENTS- SHE SAID IT MOST LIKELY
WILL NOT COME BACK BUT IT COULD BUT I TELL YOU WHAT I FELT BETTER THE SAME
DAY THE PROCEDURE WAS DONE EXCEPT FOR THE SORE THROAT AND THEY COMPLETLY
KNOCK YOU OUT WITH SOMETHING CALLED CONTSIOUS SEDATION SO YOU ARE PRETTY
DRUGGED UP BUT YOU DONT FEEEL PAIN BUT YOU ARE NOT PUT TO SLEEP. ITS NOT A
BIG DEAL AND I FELT SO SO SO MUCH BETTER- - ACTUALLY NORMAL AGAIN AND MY
WEIGHT GAIN HAS CONTINUED AND I HAVE LOST 73 POUNDS IN 3 ,MONTHS AND FEEL
FANTASTIC- I WAS ACTUALLY HOLDING MORE LIQUIDS DOWN WITH LESS NAUSEA RIGHT
AFTER I GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL SO I KNEW SOMETHING WASNT RIGHT- GO IN
AND HAVE IT CHECKED OUT- GOOD LUCK
