Question:
Has this happened to anyone,

I went to see my PCP, I am 9 weeks post-op. She ran the tyroid test and called back yesterday saying mine was underactive. They are running some more test at this time. I wish I could answer your question, however I'm still pre-op and waiting for a surgery date. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers! God bless! I'm sure things will turn out fine!

Yes! I'm post op (11/2/01) and never had thyroid problems before. I was feeling tired and my hair was a terribly dry, brittle not shiny. I went to my PCP thinking my B-12 level was low. He wouldn't give me a shot but "we comprised" and had a blood work up done. Since it's been a while since my surgery I asked for a full blood panel. It came back low thyroid! Much to my surprise and my PCP's. I've been on meds for 5 weeks and had another blood test and now it's back to normal levels. I do feel more energetic and my hair is beginning to get back into shape! Good luck to you! My doc didn't have an explanation but it's small price to pay for a great weight loss!
