Question:
Free Tummy Tuck???????

I heard tonight that the hospital in Tampa Fl will do free tt's if you donate the skin, has anyone else heard of this????    — Susan B. (posted on August 6, 2002)

Hey Susan, I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard something on discovery or a channel something like that. They said it wasn't possible to take skin donated from people who have lost lots of weight. For 1 they said it would cost them to much to do it. 2 there was something missing in the skin from it being stretched or something on those lines. Sorry I don't know more about it, but it was one of those things I just happen to come across while clicking the channels. Wouldn't that be great if they were though! :) Good luck finding the right answer. laura

HI SUSAN, I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW AND I HAVE SEEN THIS COME UP AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH. I HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANY PLACE THAT WILL DO IT. ONE NIGHT IN THE CHAT ROOM AN RN SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO IT BECAUSE OF INFECTION. IF YOU FIND A PLACE MAKE SURE YOU LET EVERYONE KNOW. LOTS OF FOLKS WANT A TT!

Susan, over the past few months, I have seen several posts on here about it and apparently it isn't true. I read that a couple of people actually called the hospitals and were told that it was a myth. Believe me, if this were true, I would be there in a minute! Look it up in the AMOS library. They told specifically was said about it. I cannnot remember.....
