Question:
Why do some post ops eat baby food
I didn't choose to eat baby food for the simple reason that I find that I like real food much better. I put what ever my family is eating in a small food blender and whip it right up. I can make it what ever consistancy. I am 10 days out from surgery and my doctor said that at this time, I could have anything the consistancy of applesauce. So that is what I am choosing to do. I hope this helps. I like my seasoning and it saves from having to buy special things to eat. I also kept cream of wheat cereal in the house before surgery and also instant grits. I can make as much or as little as I require. Why do some of you do that? — Andrea S. (posted on August 4, 2002)

I guess it's about choice. You answered your own question.

I ate a little baby food at first, as it was easy, no clean up, and so
forth. Add a little spice (Mrs. Dash) and they really are not too bad. Baby
food is also portable and it was just so easy. I did puree foods, but
having the babyfood did help save time etc.

I ate some baby food. As others said, it is more portable, and easy. But
for me, it was also the gross factor. I just could not stomach seeing food
go through a blender. May be weirdness on my part, but that was how I felt
at the time. I did not stay on baby food for long. ANd the main things I
ate were the fruits.

I never ate baby food and I never used the blender either. I pureed
everything with my teeth.
