Question:
Has anyone ever had the shakes or fainted?
Today, I went to a wedding and started feeling lightheaded and shakey. I started shaking all over and may have fainted. I had been standing almost an hour when this happened. Someone got me a seat and I began to feel better right away about 10 minutes later, I felt fine. I hadn't had anything to eat that day except a protein supplement (it was 8:00 p.m.), but that is not abnormal for me. I'm going to call my surgeon Monday, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this. — Lisa N M. (posted on July 13, 2002)

No meals till after 8 pm. Not good it can make you ill. <P> Some
things that can cause this, dehydration, low or high blood sugar, You
diabetic, blood pressure? Are you still on any prescription drugs?
Typically blood pressure, blood sugar and others drop after wls. You
prescriptions will likely need adjusted or dropped althogether. This
symptom got me off blood pressure meds. I got dizzy and felt faint a lot.

I can tell you that I used to experience terrible shaking when my blood
sugar dropped. But, I also have the added pleasure of being anemic and
have been known to "kiss the floor" when my iron levels are
extremely low.
As Bob said, there are several things that could be the cause, I'd tend to
think it was the lack of food. Skipping meals can do you in!

I had this happen to me at about 6 or 7 months post-op....fortunately I was
at my girlfriend's house who is a nurse. for no reason, I started shaking
& started to go down.....I never followed up with it...but we assumed
that it was blood sugars....it pasted within a 1/2 hour. You best resource
is your Dr. Let us know what he says....thanx. Karan
