Question:
Is anyone having trouble getting insurance sent by doc's office once they have all?

Took me a few weeks and hounding them every day. I'm sure they can't wait
until my surgery is over and I'm healed so they don't have to hear from me
again! I don't know why it's got to be this way. Nelly

My surgeon's office told me it would be two weeks from my
appt. until they submitted to insurance. It actually took
four weeks, and might have taken longer if I had not started
calling at two weeks, and every few days after! Later I
found out at my support group that it took six weeks for
some patients' letters to go out. I know their office is
very busy, and I thought they had to wait for records from my
pcp, but it turns out they do not send these unless the insurance
asks for them. The only thing that makes sense to me is that
the surgeon wants to space out the surgeries. Maybe they only
submit so many each week so they can have surgeries scheduled
so far out on the calendar? It's just a letter, and probably
a standard form letter at that, so I can't imagine what takes
so long! Good luck to you. Ginger

MY advice to you is be a mega pest. Some times doctors slack off on writing
refreals or requests to insurance companys. I got them to send in my paper
work in 1 week. Let me tell you everyone in that office knows my name and
my face by heart. I won't stand for my paper work to collect dust on the
doctors desk.
