Question:
Where can I find a local support group??

I believe there is a way we can find a local support group on here, I am just not sure where, can someone please help me with this...WLS scheuduled for 8-13-02...Surgeon is Dr. Tanaka in San Deigo...Insurance is Kaiser..I live in Sacramento..Thanks, [email protected]    — Shari V. First, call your surgeons office and ask them if there is a local support group. They should know. Another thing you can do is go to the "find peers" section of this website and find other people in your area and ask them. if there is not a local support group, maybe you can ask some of those people if they would be interested in starting one and then go from there. Shari, There is the Kaiser post-op support group on the 4th Saturday of every month in Sacramento. There is also one in SSF on the 3rd Saturday of everymonth. That is the one I go to since I live in the Bay Area. Call Nadia for information where the one in Sacramento is. You should already have this information since you are a Kaiser patient even though you are going to PB for surgery. Just because you are going to PB doesn't mean you can't go to Kaiser's support groups.
