Question:
What is the best protein drink as far as taste goes?

My favorite protein mix (actually, the only one I could tolerate) comes
from www.revivalhealth.com. It is a soy product that comes in single
serving packets. I like the sugar-free vanilla, but it comes in chocolate
and unflavored, too. I mix mine into hot water with lots of sweetener. At
first, I also mixed in some instant coffee crystals, but now I like it as
is. I drink it for breakfast, and it holds me until lunchtime. It has 20 g
protein. I also used to use part milk and part water to add a little more
protein, but now I'm eating better, so I don't need the extra protein in
the morning. Lots of people mix it into fruit smoothies and such, but I
like it warm. I checked with the company to make sure that the nutritional
value would not be compromised by heating it. By the way, because it is a
soy product, it has many health benefits beyond its protein value. I hope
you try it and like it. Best wishes.

There is no answer to this question.
Taste is strictly a personal matter and you cannot go at all by what other
people like!
The ONLY thing you can do is to try a sample of each kind out there and
decide for yourself.
I hated most of them, and then I read raving reviews by several people
about a particular brand that was just out of this world and was "the
answer" for people who hated all the others - they guaranteed that
anybody would just LOVE it! So I rushed out and bought some....it made me
vomit! It was SO nasty and vile and I threw the rest directly into the
garbage!
Then I started trying samples, until I found one that I could live with. I
actually LIKE it! But, some other people don't like the brand that I like!
Point being - everyone is different, likes different stuff, and you cannot
get an unbiased answer to "which one tastes the best?"

Lisa, if you go to www.Vitalady.com, you can order a bunch of samples to
try out to see what you like best. Michelle Curran is Vitalady, and she is
a wealth of information about protein, vitamins, etc. She and her husband
both had WLS. Good luck.

Like Cathy said taste is a personal thing but I love my chocolate
ProComplex. I have it every morning with 1/2 a bananna, milk and ice cubes
in the blender. It also comes in Strawberry and vanilla-I get mine from
affordablesupplements.com.

I have found 2 protein drinks that I really like. Atkins pre-mixed drinks
are good, but kind of expensive. Also, I like Carb Solutions pre-mixed
drinks. They are about 1/2 the cost of Atkins at my local Wal-Mart. But,
as everyone has said, "to each his own"! Good luck!

Everything usually tastes gross to me, but I hit the jackpot when I bought
Designer Whey Protein in vanilla flavor. It's 17.5 grams of protein per
scoop. I put one scoop, 2/3 cup of skim milk, half a banana and 3 frozen
strawberries in the blender and it is sooooo good. It tastes good plain as
well. I also tried it with milk and a teaspoon of Hershey's unsweetened
cocoa (in the brown container) and it makes a nice lite chocolate shake.
No gross taste, no aftertaste and it's very filling, although a bit
gassy/bubbly when you use the blender. Hugs, Joy

I'm ProScore 100 choc. 6-8 oz water + ice. 32g protein, 0g sugar. Reminds
me of a choc shake, but in a volume I tolerate well. YUM!

Pure Pro Chocolate - Sold at GNC for about $2.25 a can. 35 grams of
protein. Not to be confused with Pure Protein also at GNC that one has a
couple of grams of sugar in it. But the Pure Pro has an awesome taste that
everyone likes!

hi. it;s hard to find a good one. i am almost 2 weeks post-op and down 20
pounds last time i checked. I am using ZERO CARB ISOPURE. you can buy it at
GNC or VITAMIN SHOPPE. it comes in 4 flavors, alpine punch, grape, orange,
or blue raspberry. it is pre-mixed and tastes like gatorade and has 40
grams of whey protein. I like the last 3 the best, as the first (alpine
punch) tastes a bit like protein. goodluck in your search!

I baught 15 samples from vitalady and I hated ALL of the ones I tried. I
could not even con my 7 yr old into drinking them. I am going to try to
get most of my protein from milk, eggs, cheese, and meat. Maybe I will get
lucky and my tastes will change and I will like one of the 6 I have
left!!!! Good luck!

I have really disliked all the chocolate and vanilla shakes that I've
tried; so far, I've tried about 15 different ones from various companies.
What I do like are the fruit ones--the ones that taste more like fruit
smoothies. My favorite is the Myoplex Lite Tropical Fruit variety--four
different kinds (pina colada, banana, orange, and peaches and cream) are
sold in a box of 20--five envelopes of each flavor. I use about 10 ice
cubes, the recommended amount of water, half a banana and whirl it all in a
blender. Very, very nice--quite thick as well--with 180-190 calories each,
low carbs, and 25 grams of protein. My second favorite comes in a box with
individual envelopes as well: Designer Whey Protein Smoothie--the flavor is
AbsBerry Sundae. I mix it up the same way as I do with the Myoplex Lite.
These aren't as thick, but taste like the kind of smoothies I get in juice
bars--lots of juice bars here in Los Angeles! My latest addition to my
protein routine is Extreme Pure Pro which comes in two flavors--grape and
tropical punch--I like both. The other kind are a meal for me. The
Extreme Pure Pro is more like Crystal Lite--mixes up in about five ounces
of water in a tall glass with lots of ice--no blender. So with the Extreme
Pure Pro, I'll drink one of those if I want to eat a little food at
breakfast instead. For example, I'll have half a bagel with low-fat peanut
butter and a glass of Extreme Pure Pro. The EPP is one scoop from a 2.3 lb
container--120 calories and 26 grams of protein. The EPP also works well
for me before bedtime, if I'm in doubt whether I've gotten in enough
protein for the day, and don't have room for a "meal-sized"
protein drink.
