your insurance benefits book explains what is covered as far as medical
rentals etc---good luck---they won't pay for my surgery even though its a
covered service---

My insurance wouldn't. I checked into this too as I was wanting one for
post op recovery. I spent my first week on the couch with lots of pillows
and moved up to my bedroom on day 8. However, a friend of mine found an
acceptable used recliner in the newspaper for $100 and considered it a
bargain.

I am pretty sure it will not. Call your Customer Service number.

IF they do not pay, don't worry. I was on the couch a few days then moved
to my bed. Ahhh what a pleasure. My GERD is gone and i can sleep in
bed!! Prior to surgery I had been sleeping sitting up. I know some swear
by the recliner but I did fine without one. I am glad I did not panic and
spend money I can't afford to spend. My surgery was three weeks ago.

You are lucky if you are even getting BC/BS to pay for the surgery! I
haven't heard of any insurance paying for a recliner. Rent one or pick one
up at a second hand furniture store if you can't afford a new one.
