Question:
How can I help get rid of this ulcer pain?!?!!

I am 7 mos post-op and am in the most miserable pain. About two months ago, I started having lots of pain when I would eat anything. I went to the ER, come to find out I needed to have my galbladder removed. I took ALOT of pain medication for this and did so for nearly 2 weeks until I could get the dang thing removed. After the surgery I still experienced a great deal of pain, although not near as much as before. That was a month ago. I have since seen my surgeon who believes I have an ulcer and i have had an Upper GI, but have yet to receive the results. My queston is...what can I do, or eat to make the pain less..er..painful. I'm taking pepsid and my surgeon gave me even more pain pills...of which I believe is the cause of this anyway. The pain is only unbearable after I eat...and it lasts for hours. All I can do is sit with a heating pad on my back and cry. I have missed so much work that I am suprised I still have a job, and Im starting to get depressed because this pain has been going on for over two months....Arrggg. Im so frustrated. My doctor gave me ACIPHEX 20 mg took all the pain away and ulcer is now gone. Ask your Doctor about it. It's not a pain killer it's a med to get rid of the ulcer. Patty
