Question:
Has anyone tried hypnosis post op to control cravings?
I do not dump which makes it easier for me to make poor food choices on occasion. The cost of the seminar is $60... is it worth a try? — lessofme170 (posted on May 3, 2002)

I'm pre and waiting for insurance approval. I went to a
group hypnosis session for $40 just this week. It was my
first time. I went with a friend who had gone once before.
When my friend went before, she lost 30 lbs but regained it.
I felt absolutely nothing. I have noticed no change in my
feelings towards foor or cravings. The one I went to also
sells vitamins and suppliments. So, out of a 3 hour session,
We were hypnotized for 45 min, talked about cravings for
45 min, had a 20 minute break and the rest was selling. I
truely believe I went in with an open mind, but I don't
believe it did anything for me.

Hi, Hypnosis can work but not at a seminar in my opinion. Sometimes there
can be up to 200 people there and the hypnotist can't
"personalize" everyones needs. When your hypnotized you must go
about 3-5 times to really have it "compressed" in your
subconscious. I never tried it for weight loss, but it worked great on
other things. Best of Luck.
