Question:
ANYONE HAVE TROUBLE TAKING TRAZADONE AND PAXIL AFTER SURGERY?
HI, I HAVE BEEN A ON TRAZADONE AND PAXIL FOR SEVERAL YEARS. THEY ARE ANITDEPESSANTS AND ANTI-ANXIETY MEDS. I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAS TAKEN THEM BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY, AND HOW THINGS WENT FOR THEM. — Gale G. (posted on April 29, 2002)

I took Paxil and Trazodone before surgery and continued with them post-op.
The only difference I've found is that I have to cut each of the pills into
quarters before I can swallow it. I HAVE cut my Paxil dose in half, on my
own, primarily because of financial reasons (better half a dose than to run
out completely). Halving the dosage doesn't seem to have made any
difference at all to my emotional state, but I can't clearly attribute that
to my RNY.

Post Op, I started taking my trazadone as scheduled and immediately after
taking it, I can tell it absorbs faster than before my WLS.
