Question:
Is it possible to include Pedialyte in your post-operative liquid diet?
It's not suppose to have any sugars; I'd imagine it would be good for one who is healing. Anybody try it? — Gail G. (posted on April 23, 2002)

The sugar in regular Pedialyte would make it prohibitive for the early
post-op. If you are worried about electrolytes, try watered down gatorade.
If you water it down by 50%, you can get 16 oz. for 50 calories ... and if
it's keeping you from becoming dehydrated, the calories are definitely
worth it.
