Question:
I have completely STOPPED losing weight. Has anyone else has this happen?
I had Gastroplasty July 23, 2001. To this day, I have only lost 75 pounds. My weight loss has STOPPED. What do I do? Why had is stopped? I am so depressed about this. No matter what I do, nothing. I still want to lose at least another 100 pounds! Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated! Thank you. — nvgirl (posted on April 19, 2002)

you didnt say how long this has gone on, but most of us hit a platau (sp)i
am at one myself at 200 lbs. The diatition told us, when we hit a stand
still to get off all "white products" bread, potato, rice, yadda.
Then increase exercise and make sure you get that protein down. Watch the
carbs. See if that helps!!! jacki

I know exactly how you feel! I had WLS RNY on Oct. 26th. I started at 308
and I am down 72lbs. I have been at this same weight for the past 2 mo. I
will fluctuate 3lbs. I will go up 3 down 3, up 3 down 3...this is driving
me absolutely insane!! I too question if this is it. Have I stopped
losing? I would still like to lose 100lbs. I was hoping to have been down
100lbs. by now. I , like you, have no idea what to do next....I have tried
everything...I feel as though I need to start weight watchers or something.
I was hoping that with having this surgery, I wouldn't have to resort to
"dieting".

I had the RNY surgery Oct 3, 2001. I lost 80 lbs and just stopped. I
didnt lose anything for over a month. 2lbs here only to gain it the next
week. Then all of a sudden one week i lost 5, the next week 5 then the
next week 5. Why? I have no idea, but it just happens that way. Dont get
too stressed over it, the weight will come off. Keep positive!

I had surgery July 20, 2001 and lost 94 pounds in the first 6 monts and
haven't lost anything since. I went from a size 24 to a size 10. I weigh
155 now (gaining and losing the same 3-4 pounds every month) and I want to
lose another 25 pounds but don't see that happening. I don't know what else
to do. I hope we all lose the rest! Good luck!
