Question:
Has anyone had a tummy tuck before they had surgery

I am in the precess on find a doctor. Has anyone had a tummy tuck before surgery,and qualified for a lap procedure.i really don't want to have a open surgery. I am really concerned about the scar. Also has anyone had there scar fixed to a point that you can't see it. I really want to wear a bikni again without people staring at my scar.If anyone had a lap after having a tummy tuck could they tell me the doctor.    — christine H. (posted on April 11, 2002)

Yes I had a TT before I had the Lap done, I am in the waiting process of getting approval. My TT was done when I had a full Hysterectomy, after 2 c-sections, it was not for cosmetic reasons, but to get around the previous scar tissue. Even though I am a fat gal still, my scar looks great! I was showing it to my cousin today who just got back from having a TT after losing all the weight. This is now her second TT, she had one before losing and now she needed it again. I suggest you wait to get the TT, until after you lose the weight or you'll probably end up getting another one. The Dr. can only take off what is extra.

I had a TT before surgery by about 3 years, my TT scar was quite extensive, it runs vertically as well as from hip to hip. My surgeon said because of the scar he could only do open, in fact he improved the look of my original scar so I am happy. The results of both surgeries are so worth it and my scar is fading pretty well at 9 months out.
