Question:
Will hot water hurt my new pouch?
I love to drink plain hot water and I was wondering if it will hurt my new pouch after surgery? — Geralyn (posted on April 10, 2002)

Hello: Hot tea has ALWAYS and still is my comfort. I am 8 mos post op and
drink LOTS of hot tea every day. I work in my proteins by drinking half
milk and half tea on some of the cups...When I am having one of those days
where I really can't tolerate anything....My good ole hot tea always hits
the spot...Good way to get your liquids in and try the milk thing for some
added protein. p.s...no it won't hurt your pouch....I was served hot tea
immediately after surgery in the hospital.......

Before I had wls, I couldn't get enough ice - we went through tons of it at
home - good thing there was an ice machine at work, lol! But since
surgery, I can't STAND anything cold! I want only hot drinks! I drink
lots of decaf herbal teas and Crystal Light, in addition to just plain old
hot water. People think I'm strange, but it's what does it for me! Good
Luck!
