From what I hear, it is normal to feel instantly better after vomiting.
As for carbs, fats, sugars and proteins, I've heard different stories. For
proteins, it ranges from 50-100 grams a day, depending on how far along you
are. For fats, try to keep under 30 in a day, and I try to limit to no
more than 10 per meal or less. For sugars, it depends on what kind it
is-you can tolerate a higher amount if its source is fruit (fructose). For
real sugar, I try to keep under 8 per meal. For carbs, the lower the
better, but I must admit that this is not my strong suit. Someone else may
have an idea.

All sugars are carbohydrates, no matter where they come from. However, not
all carbs are sugar. It's really important to understand that we do need
some carbs in our diet, mostly veggies and some fruit for post-ops.
Usually when people talk about avoiding carbs, they are talking more about
simple carbs like refined sugar and starches than all carbohydrates.
Veggies and fruits can also be very helpful in keeping you 'regular'.

It is NEVER normal to throw up "everything", even though most of
us have had it happen. I am 10 weeks post op open RNY and if I eat too
fast, too much, or the wrong things (eggs, for instance) I will throw up!
Yes, I do feel better almost immediately. If keeping down ANY foods becomes
a problem for you contact your surgeons office asap! You must not wait on
this as you may have a stricture and it can cause dehydration in a short
period of time. Its easily and painlessly fixable! Good luck, Donna
