Question:
Are there any rules against juicing vegetables?
I have a juicer that I use for mostly veggies to increase my vegetable intake. I like V-8 juice but it's so high in sodium(even the low sodium kind) I sometimes add a few apple slices to my concoctions make it taste better. What do you post-ops think?? BTW, I'm pre-op. — Judi W. (posted on March 24, 2002)

It should be okay to juice your vegetables. If you are a recent post-op, it
is very hard to eat veggies. As you said, this will also allow you to limit
the salt content. I would watch certain veggies, like carrots because they
are high in sugar and could cause dumping. Your eventual goal would be to
eat the vegetables to add to your sense of fullness, but that would be
months down the road.
