Question:
Is the sublingual B-12 as good as the shots?

I have taken the sublingual pill once a week since the beginning. Never had
shots. I had my bloodwork done last month and my levels were fine. So just
for me it works fine, but it might not with others. Good luck to you.

What is the "sublingual"? I was getting twice a month shots, but
I hate having to go to the doctors twice a month. (I don't mind the shots,
it's the time involved). I don't like taking twice a day pills ether, so
I'd like to know what it is that I can take once a week. Sounds great. Is
it something under the tongue? And where can I get them and how much money?
Does insurance cover it? Thanks

B12 sublingual is easily available at most drug stores. My costs about
3.00 for two month supply. Just put one under your tongue daily.

If you are already below normal levels now, no. Only shots can pull you out
of pernicious anemia. But if your levels are still above 300, it's possible
that the subs will do the job. The trick is to take them for 6 weeks and
test again and be sure that they ARE bringing you up or holding you steady.
B12 is too important to just sort of "guess". If you are just
starting out and had normal B12 levels pre-op, many people do fine on the
subs for awhile. Again, the trick is to test and if levels get near 300,
take more aggressive action.
