Question:
Does anyone use a girdle to control the extra tummy skin?
I could probably wear lots more clothes if I didn't have the saggy baggy elephant hanging around my midsection. Has anyone worn/used some time of girdle device to keep it under control? Has it helped or did it just push everything in too much? UGH!?!? — Kierstin C. (posted on February 7, 2002)

Funny you should ask that question...because this morning as I was slipping
my "tummy control garment" on, (girdle sounds soo...yucky), I was
thinking to myself, I wonder if anyone else does this. If I don't have my
"tummy control garment" on, then I wear "control top"
pantyhose or tights. They help hold in all the sags & bags.
Take care--wishing you peace, love, health & happiness.

I wear a full body control garmet. It is very comfortable and kind of is
made like a teddy. You can get them at any department store. It really
makes a difference in my appearance. I don't have an enormous amount of
sagging skin
but I do have a couple of hideous rolls that show if I don't wear it.

Yep I do, I bought some that are almost like panties, I feel more secure in
them. I dont like the regular gurdles, to uncomfortable. I only bought 3
pairs so I hand wash them, but that helps them last longer.

I've been wearing those panties with the front control panel, and they help
wonderfully! I've seen them at almost all department stores, and outlet
malls. I can't remember who makes them, but there are different brands
(Hanes, Bali, etc). They cost about $6 each, and really help keep
everything in the stomach area snug. I highly recommend them!

Thank God for Spandex! After losing 150lbs., I don't have a tummy
problem, but I do have a butt problem. I wear spandex briefs to keep
things under control. I also have a long leg body smoother that I
wear when I'm wearing knits or sheer skirts. Control top pantyhose
work well too...the ones with lots of spandex.

I am still pre-op but the nurse at my surgeons ofc said that if you wear
support hose, girdle and a support bra at all times while losing weight
that it greatly reduces the need for TT. I weight around 260 and she said
that it is her experience that others my size that have done this to a T,
have had no excess skin. It is my plan to take this advice very seriously,
I am only wondering what do I do with all that flab under my arms??? Anyone
know of girdles for your underarms??? :)

Funny, but I too have been asking myself this and tried a few ones on
yesterday. My kids got a laugh at my description of how it just seemed to
move it all up! Maybe it was too tight or not the right kind and I just am
too unaccustomed to having something so tight and uncomfortable.
I have lost 102 pounds and am weighing 164 in about a size 14 in sized
clothes and mediums. Maybe if someone who really likes theirs names the
brand name that would help. Good Luck to us both!

I wouldn't think of going out without a girdle -- but the good news is that
it keeps everything from jiggling -- and no one notices that I need a tummy
tuck -- I will be having my tummy tuck though three weeks from tomorrow!
I've also had my arms and thighs done -- there was major jiggling going on!

I use two. A pantie that has a "binder" on the top, and a second
"binder" on the top part of my belly. As I have lots of loose
skin there also. I dont wear them all of the time but if I am going out and
want to feal less jiggly I wear one or both.
