Question:
How many carbs can you have and still go into ketosis?

I am not sure, but I do know that you can buy a test strip that will turn
purple when you are there. You can find them at any drug store.

I know that when I was doing the atkins diet I read somewhere on his
website that you aren't supposed to eat more than 20 carbs a day in order
to stay in ketosis. Hope that helps a little.

The number of carbs required to STOP the process of ketosis is different
for everyone, depending upon their own metabolism and how they process
nutrients. When I was on the Adkins diet a few years ago.. I used the
KetoStix to keep track of the urine output of ketones.. you're shooting
for PURPLE test strips. I learned that 4-5 grapes was enough for me to
'lose the purple' on my test strips. Any pharmacy has the strips (although
possibly not stocked in smaller ones, they can order them for you and have
them there in a day or two).

I don't know that there is a magic number. When I was on the Lindora plan
(in CA), I had fruit with almost every meal and I was in heavy (dark
purple, on the verge of black) ketosis on my keto sticks. Also, if you do
purchase the keto sticks - word of warning - not everyone's urine will make
the stick turn color. You may be in ketosis and not be able to make the
stick darker.
