Question:
Why am I not losing anymore weight? And where is all that food going?
I am 71/2 months out from RNY. I healed well. I am 81-83lbs down but scale has not moved for almost 2 months. I am eating almost pre op portions. Is my new pouch possibly stretching, or has my opening enlarged? I am doing resistant exercises , but has the scale stopped moving for me, for good? — Sandra E. (posted on January 17, 2002)

I am going through the same thing. Up your protein and change your work
outs a little. Oh and try eating more. That is what everyone told me and my
scale has started to move agian.. Good luck:):)

It is normal for the pouch to stretch. At one year post op my pouch was 8
ounces and I was told that it was perfectly normal. Are you seriously
eating the same portions you did pre-op? I ask this because starting at
about 6-8 months post op I began to be able to eat significantly more. I
got very nervous. But I still wasn't (and still not) eating anywhere near
what I used to eat. I mean I do eat a whole chicken breast now. Pre op I
would eat a whole chicken! I think that post op we tend to lose our senses
a bit. Measure out what you are eating and contact your nutritionist if
you still feel the same way.

Your pouch will stretch out, but you will never be able to eat like you
used to. (you will always have to work with that tool you've been given).
Increase your water and exercise and things will start moving again!
