Question:
Should I be counting my carbs for everything?
I've been using the fitday website to track my calories and such. I wonder however, If I should track all my carbs. For example fruits and veggies, yogurt, cheese and such? I realize that if I eat a complex/simple I'm not sure which one it is. But what my main question is, do I need to track all carbs? I would appreciate a break down of some sort. Thanks guys!! <p> For breakfast I have 2 hard boiled egg whites which is around 7:30 a.m. around 9:30 I will drink a protein shake 30 grams of protein. Is it okay for me to just eat a salad and some fruit for lunch if I'm getting my 60-80 grams of protein in. I know we emphasize protein first and a must at every meal. I however usually go to the cafeteria in my office and get a salad, which consists of just lettuce and maybe an ounce of cheese, as well as a cup of fruit, mostly melon and pinapple. For dinner I will have some sort of meat & veggie and then maybe throw in another protein shake. As I said my main question was can not eat protein at a meal? All comments will be greatly appreciated. By the way I'm LAP RNY began 298 current 188.5 4-16-01 — Kristina P. (posted on December 13, 2001)

your doing GREAT! No personally I sometimes have just a salad for a meal. I
try to get in enough protein in every day, but missing a meal, things
happen. I rarely eat breakfast, never did do most of my protein in lunch,
dinner and a snack, like cheese or something. As long as you get enough
protein in each day, and not all at once you should be fine.

I get all my protein via supplement. I'm not much of a fan of meats or
fishies, so I'm not GOING to eat a load at a meal. I often have salad or
fruit for a meal. Yum.
