Question:
I Am Approved!!!!! Now what?

I just got a call today @ 11:00 am from my insurence company, (BC/BS Prefered Blue ppo, one letter is all it took) stating that I have been approved and that my doctor has been called. Ruth, By the time I was approved, I'd already gone for my psych eval (required by ins before they'd approve me). Since I had already met the other requirements, all I had to do was call the doctor and they set a surgery date. Even if you have to wait till after 12/4, shouldn't be much longer until you know something definite. Good luck in your new life.^j^

Congratulations Ruth! I would recommend finding out the various preop tests your surgeon requires and trying to schedule them (some need to be done closer to surgery than others). Your being on this Web site is a terrific step; I got so much information here before my surgery this past May. Congrats again, and looking forward to seeing you "on the other side"!

Hi Ruth! Once you have the psych eval and everything is cleared for you to have surgery, your doctors office will schedule a surgery date. There's really nothing to do right now except wait. That is how it went with my doctor anyway. I got approved back in Sept. I think, and my surgery is scheduled for Jan. In the meantime I am at this site EVERYDAY reading all the Q&A's learning all I can about the surgery and what to expect afterwards. My doctors office will contact me about pre ops when the time is near. For now, if I were you, I would just relax and continue learning all you can about your surgery. It will help you to be better prepared for dealing with all kinds of post op issues...........good luck!!
