Question:
What kind of things do I need to get ready just in case?
I do plan on getting our financial stuff in order and the normal household business taken care of, but does anyone have any more sugestions as to what I need to get done "just in case". — Lynda T. (posted on November 6, 2001)

I have read where some people made a video tape for their children (or
audio tape). Others wrote letters to each individual family member. This
way, they have something special from you to comfort them "just in
case". I hope this helps! Good luck on your surgery.

A signed power of attorney form; DNR (Do not resusitate) form (if you're so
inclined), and a will.

Lynda..I am waiting to have surgery and have heard all these suggestions
like letters to the kids, will, meals in advance and I am taking all of
this into consideration just in case of the WORST!! BUT..I have also gone
to Victoria Secrets and bought myself a couple size 9 little
"HOT" numbers just because I know this will all be fine..and it
gives me something to work towards and look forward to, plus lighten the
stress. You should try it..buy something you havent been able to fit into
for years..ITS A BLAST!! Good Luck!!

I posted this same question some months ago. I am not going to do
anything, but tell my family I love them.
Would you write each member of your family a letter if you
were having your gall bladder removed?, A C-Sec, or knee
surgery? probably not. So why with this? It's no more/less dangerous
than any "normal major surgery"
You could stop breathing w/ any of these and also have a heart attack.
being obese is just downright dangerous!!
