Are you exercising every day for 30-60 minutes, briskly ?
We were taught in WLS classes that because we take in so little, our
metabolism WILL plummet, and then you burn little fat/calories. And that
the ONLY way to get that metabolsim back UP, so you continue to lose weight
at a good rate is to exercise every day aerobically (briskly).
You need to walk, either on a trail or path in your neighborhood, on a
treadmill, mall-walking inside in the winter, or swim laps at an area pool,
or bicycle ride. You need to start at a half hour every day, then build up
to an hour. You should do it fast enough to raise a sweat, raise your
respiratory rate, (but not to the point where you are breathless) and keep
it up during that 30-60 minutes. This will raise your metabolic rate and
help you continue to lose weight. We were told this over and over again -
that the WLS is just a TOOL to help you, you are the one who still has to
do the work !!! Try this and see if the scales don't start moving downward
again. Exercise is a lifelong habit they want you to develop during this
time, in order not to re-gain the weight, which some do. Good luck to you
!!!

You are doing so well! That's almost 10 pounds a month. What I wouldn't
give to lose that much every month! Keep things in perspective... if you
were on a diet you'd be thrilled right now! Keep on following aftercare
and excercise! You're doing great! Keep it up!

Are you keeping up with your protein? My doctor recommends at least 60
grams of protein a day. Research suggests that a high protein, low carb
diet will help you drop weight more quickly (not that you aren't doing
great already!!!). Combine that with strength training and you are boosting
your metabolism even more. I hope this helps. Good luck to you!

I have hit several plateaus but two that have seemed to last forever. Each
time I look at what I am eating and see that I have increased my carbs
quite a bit. I then really watch my carb intake and increase my protein
like the previous post said and the weight seems to start melting off
again. Good luck and by the way, 58 lbs is great. Keep it up.

HI. I am 9 months post-op and was stuck at 58 pounds at 6 months. I thought
I was done, but I just kept doing what I was supposed to, and suddenly, I
started losing again. I am now 9 months post and am down 87 pounds. You are
doing fine. Everyone loses at a different rate. It is possible your body is
catching up with your loss. Just relax, keep following your program and I'm
sure you'll be just fine.
