Question:
are you abled to really exercise? i'm worried about sweating/being not able to drink
i am really excited about my surgery and am really looking forward to being able to work out again but i am worried that since i will not be able to drink as much that i might have to limit myself or become prone to dehydrating? can anyone who has had the surgery elaborate? or have any suggestions or personal stories it would be greatly appreciated. — blank first name B. I am almost 9 months post op, open RNY and I HAVE to drink a lot of water
when I workout or I will most definately get dehydrated and if it's hot
especially I have to be super vigilant of my water! It's an absolute MUST!
The symptoms to me are shakiness, feeling disoriented, etc. if I'm
getting dehydrated my lips get chapped immediately and as soon as I drink
some more water it goes away so it's somewhat easy to monitor. Hope that
helps, go slow and especially when it's hot take precautions and drink a
lot of water!

I have had trouble with drinking water since I had my RNY, but I have found
that the ONLY time I can gulp water comfortably is after physical activity.
The rest of the time a few sips and I'm done.
