Can someone help me find a surg who does Lap RNY in New Jersey?

I am looking for a surgeon who does the Lap RNY in the New Jersey/Philadelphia/NYC areas. I have Amerihealth Personal Choice insurance. Any info is appreciated. Thank you.    — S B. (posted on April 11, 2001)

Hi S.Applegate, I also live in New Jersey. I am scheduled to have a LAP RNY done on April 23, 2001 (12 days from today!!!) My surgeon is Dr. N. Bertha, he works out of Morristown Memorial Hospital. His partner is Dr.Abkin. They work along with two other surgeons as well, Dr.Ward and Dr. Egoda. I have been VERY pleased with Dr. Bertha and the entire Obesity Center at Morristown Memorial. I would suggest you attend an Obesity Support Group Meeting. They are held the second Tuesday of each month at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Nurse Mary Meola is in charge of the Obesity Center and the meetings. She is truly wonderful. If you'd like additional info you can call Mary at (973) 971-6503. Drs Gagner, Herron, Pomp and Inabnet of Mt Sinai in NYC perform the Lap RNY. My family has had surgeries with 3 out of four of them and I cant say enough positive things about them. Check out their website: www.surgicallyslim.com
