Question:
I am wondering about my progress
I am 4.5 months post op, and down 67lbs. Is this good progress for someone who started out at 277, 5' 6" (BMI of 43)??? I am very happy with my results thus far, but wanted advice from other longer post ops who have been there. — Carla M. (posted on July 3, 2003)

Sounds to me like you're doing fine! I had lost a bit more at that point,
about 75-80 pounds I think, but I also started at almost 100 pounds more
than you! So, it all works out the same in the end...many people on my
Sept 2002 mailing list were right at your pace at this time. Good luck,
you'll be at goal before you know it!

At 4.5 months I had lost 75 pounds and was 5'7" and 266 to start. It
sounds like you are on the same track. Good Job! I will say that after 4
months it has slowed just a bit as my appetite has increased a bit. If I am
very adherent to my "diet" though I still lose 3 pounds a week
but it is somewhat harder work than it was a month or two ago. I would
never compare it to dieting before!!!! It is so much easier than that. A
bad week still leaves me losing a pound or two. Yoiu are doing great!
Don't forget that you really are a lightweight and we just lose slower in
pounds but not in percentage of weight lost. If you figure that out you
will be amazed. Divide the number of pounds you have lost by the number of
pounds you had to lose to start with and VOILA you have your percent lost.
It is cool because I find that no matter what the start weight we all lose
pretty much the same! Good Luck and continued success!!

Hi. I had my surgery the week before you. I started out at 250lbs. and I am
5'3". I have 5 more pounds to lose and I will be a member of the
century club. Good Luck.
