Question:
Does anyone else feel boney now after loosing a lot of weight??
I still need to lose about 50 pounds, but I started feeling boney a while ago. I was so used to all that padding!!! Just curious if anyone feels this way. — bevewy (posted on February 2, 2003)

Hi Beverly, I still have about 45 lbs to lose and I am feeling really bony.
Its amazing I never knew I had this many bones, LOL. My tail bone hurts all
the time from my computer chair, and I have ankles and wrist bones as well
as collar and shoulder bones. It is just amazing to me. Way to go on you

I've lost about 55 pounds from my high weight (37 since surgery) and I'm
already starting to feel bones:) I've noticed that I can't sleep on my
side too long because my hip bones stick out into the bed. Also, my collar
bones have come out of hiding:)

I had an absolute scare! I felt this hard lump over where my kidney should
have been and went running to the doctor in a panic thinking I had
developed a tumor. Turns out it was my lowest rib that I have never in my
life been able to feel...sheesh! My doctor just grinned at me and shook
his head. Oh yeah, and I show off my collarbones whenever I can since I
have never had those since I was 6 years old.

I can't believe how boney I am now, and I still would like to lose 20-25
pounds (mostly in my stomach/hips/thighs). I count my ribs at night now,
instead of sheep <g>. My shoulders are the worse, though. I rarely
go to the movies anymore, as I can't sit comfortably for more than an hour.
But ya know what? I ain't complaining! :o)

I can remember the first time that I actually felt bones I was lying on my
bed and I ran my hands along my sides and I could feel my "floating
ribs"! It was the oddest thing, I had never felt my ribs, let alone
the "floating ribs" in my rib cage! All those amazing
discoveries we have as we manage to lose those pounds =) You will have
more and more of them...Hugs <3

Yes, I am down over 100lbs. and finally have bony collar bones, it's
great!! But I also have no butt whatsoever (and boy did I used to have
one!), and unfortunately my tailbone sticks out and it hurts to sit after a
while. Do all thinner people have this? Boy it hurts, but I'm not
complaining, i'd rather be skinny! :-D

Boy, can I relate! I still have a good 50-60 pounds to go, but I'm a side
sleeper, and have always slept with my right leg on top of my left. Now,
my knee bones come together, and it hurts! But you know what? I'll put a
pillow in there, and take the weight loss, thank you very much! lolol

My bones actually feel sharp and pointy!! My hips, knees, tailbone, etc.
I can look at my chest and see the bones prtrude through my shoulders and
in the front of my chest. It looks strange and even after a year, I'm
still trying to get used to it.
