Question:
Has anyone else had an increased frequency in their cycles?
I am now 2 months post op. The cycles have been very heavy since surgery and now I find that I am having them every 2 weeks! Anyone else had this problem? My hubby is getting frustrated (Not to mention me!) I"m hoping that upon my reaching my goal, this will end. But does anyone have any ideas that might help? — Nancy L. (posted on December 27, 2002)

hi there :) its very common to have cycle problems right after a surgery
and also with rapid weightloss, it screws up the hormones for a while. i
have pcos so pre op id go months, even a year with no cycle, but for no
reason they cam back so i was fairly regular pre op for a while. i had my
cycle right before surgery then again right after and it took 2 and a half
weeks to stop then got it again in 2 weeks. im fairly regular now but even
still. ill get it a week or 2 early every now and then. hang in there :)

Hi there! Yup, been there, done that! ;-) My cycles have been coming every
23 days since my surgery. They've been much heavier and I had one two
months ago that lasted 10 days!! YUCK! I saw my OB-GYN and he said it's
pretty normal because our bodies are going thru huge changes and the
hormones are running wild. He put me on a Progesterone suppliment for just
days 16-26 of my cycle. I haven't had any more 10 day periods...thank
goodness! and my cycle has been dragged out to every 26 days. He said it
should be like this until we've stopped losing and are at a maintained
weight. Good luck to you!
