Question:
Is there a recipe to make protein powder into Brownies or something?
I want to make my protein powder into something. I have Real Meals and it is just too sweet. I drink it anyway, but if I could make it into something solid, I think it would be easier to get down. My protein bars don't taste wonderful, but they are so much easier to get down. — Kristy J. (posted on November 22, 2002)

hiya! i don't know about Real Meals but i use Jarrow's Iso Rich Soy Protein
Powder and it's made to be cooked with or frozen without losing its
integrity. the whey proteins cannot be cooked with and the soy protein
"shakes" also cannot be cooked with. Genisoy and Trader Joe's
both make soy protein that you can cook with but i personally didn't care
for their tastes/consistency. the Jarrow's is flavorless, for 2 tbls you
get 110 calories, 0 fat, 0 carb, 0 sugar and 25g protein.
i have recipe files on my website that include the jarrows and one seperate
recipe file for high protein peanut butter chocolate chip cookies using the
jarrows. i'm sure you could use any protein that says it can be cooked
with.

good luck and i hope you enjoy!

You can by unflavored supplement at www.globalhp.com and add it to diabetic
baking mixes, it's great. I was using Procel but plan to try the
UpDCal...it has the calcium... anyway just a thought... it does not desolve
in boiling water so mix it before heating...

The key is to make sure that the protein you pick says that it was designed
to be cooked. Whey protein curdles when cooked.

I use Real Meals. Add a little more water to it than the directions say
and it is not too sweet. Also, I notice that your profile says you are 7
weeks post op. My taste buds were really screwed up for the first three or
four months. A lot of things tasted to sweet. Now I am 7 1/2 months and
everything tastes normal. I don't know about making it into brownies. Go
to their website and ask the question. I have asked them a lot of gastric
bypass specific questions and they have always had an answer back to me.
