Question:
Help!!! Anyone out there had this delima?

I had a positive skin test several years ago. since deciding to persue surgery I decided to start taking preventive treatment of INH. I am on my last month but was wondering if anyone has or knew if taking this med. could cause complications to the surgery. thanks sherri    — Sherri H. (posted on July 11, 2002)

Sherri, My biggest concern would be related to where your liver enzymes are now and have they been elevated during your treatment time. Most people do not experience problems with this med, but some do. Otherwise I would not anticipate any problems, but obviously you should discuss this with your physician and/or surgeon.

Sherri, I too had a possitive tb skin test and took INH for 12 months. It was 20 years ago. My pcp checks my liver enzymes everytime I have labs done for post surgery checks. The good news my liver enzymes are back to normal. I had surgery 1-9-02 down 92 pounds. Good luck to you. Nancy
