Question:
What types of protein are we talking about?

I have been reading all these posts, questions and articles about how WLS patients need to make sure they eat at least 60g of protein daily. I found all these types on the web and no clue as to which I should be researching. (L-Alanine, L-Arginine, L-Carnitine, L-Cystine, L-Glycine, L-Histidine, L-Isoleucine, L-Leucine, L-Lysine, L-Methionine, L-Phenylalanine, L-Proline, L-Serine, L-Threonine, L-Tryptophan, L-Tyrosine, L-Valine)    — maresident (posted on September 7, 2001)

The protein refers to grams of complete proteins; the items you have listed are amino acids (the building blocks for protein). The best sources for complete proteins are whole foods (meat, legumes, dairy, fish), or a protein supplement (such as Designer Protein, Cheramino, Isopure, myriad bars, etc.). -Kate-
