My surgeon said one-third of his bariatric practice is Revision surgery to
the DS. Here's his website: http://www.surgery.usc.edu/foregut/bariatric.
Also, there are a couple of Revision groups that might interest you:

You should be able to have that revised to either RNY or DS. I've seen a
large number of people who had the 'stomach stapling' surgery years ago who
had the staple line open up, allowing them to eat more food again and they
regained their extra weight. Check with the bariatric surgeons in your
area. Best wishes.

I had a VBG in 1984 and have been fighting the battle again. I"m
scheduled for a revision 8/15 to RNY.

I just recently posted a question very similar LOL. I had the
"stomach stapeling" thing done about 5 years ago...lost 80#s and
gained it all back and more : ( I just got the word today that the pouch
has stretched and the staple line came apart, but I can have the RNY
done!!! In fact I have a tentative date of 8/22/01 to have it done!!
Check out your insurance and see if it is an exclusion and if not...read up
on it and consult a bariatric surgeon! Good Luck and email me anytime!

I just had a revision to a RNY from stomach stapling from 1982. I met the
100 lb over requirement, but basicly didn't have any health problems except
GERD and I was approved by my insurance and have lost almost 40 lbs since I
had the revision. Hope you the best and good luck!!!
