Question:
Vita4Life. Looking for people that have tried vita4life products

I am thinking of ordering the 2oz liquid protein and the vitamin supplement packs from vita4life. They are a little pricy, but right now I am having trouble complying with any vitamin regime. I about gag at the thought of swallowing vitamins. I didn't see any samples offered on their site, so I thought I'd see if any of you have tried them.    — Mary G. (posted on January 8, 2001)

I tried the liquid protein and thought it was horrible. I had written to them and asked for a free sample (they gave me 2) and was glad I did this before ordering blindly. I have been using Sci-Fit Whey and Pro Blend 55 protein powders and am very happy with them. Good luck!

I have used their vitamin supplements since surgery and my labs have always been great (surgery was 10/25/99). I have a proximal bypass and take the recommended 4 capsules a day, so a $49 canister lasts me 3 months. I started on the capsules one week after surgery and have never had a problem tolerating them. I do not have any experience with the protein (they did send me a free sample). I have heard of some folks having problems tolerating it. The vita4life folks do say you have to work up to taking the protein straight and should mix it with something.

I use Physician's ProCare Multivitamin with Iron. It's chewable, and only one a day, as recommended by my surgeon. The toll free number is 888-807-7622. I use ProScore 100 glutamine whey protein mix by Champion. I got the best price from Michelle Curran at www.vitalady.com. I'm also looking into calcium supplements. I only realized in the last couple of weeks that calcium is absorbed through the duodenum, which is bypassed in the RNY. Don't want to run the risk of osteoporosis, you know! Good luck.

I love the Vita4Life.net liquid protein. I mix it with 8oz of water and it tastes like iced tea. I drink one to two packets a day and find it's the fastest way to get protein and quick to get down. When I tried powders I got nauseous just smelling them. I can't drink anything mixed with powdered protein. The site is also very helpful and you can call their phone number direct for other questions or answers. Phone number is on the website. I do NOT buy their vitamins. I can get cheaper and just as good vitamins at the drugstore and GNC.
