Question:
Not a Question - A Resource

Having started at 370 pounds, I am now down 50 and needing to purchase a couple necessities to tide me over as I lose. Okay.....I need new bras. Unfortunately, I was having a difficult time because I couldn't find a larger enough tape measure. Lacy Gilbertson suggested WalMart as a possible source. Sure enough Wally's World has 120 inch tape measures in the QUILTING SUPPLIES.    — Nanette T. (posted on November 12, 2000)

I used the old fashioned metal type "carpenter" tape measures. They weren't as soft as the regular cloth ones but they did go around me. Or you could try wrapping a piece of yarn or string around the body part and then laying the string onto a standard tape or yard stick. I know for me that one of the biggest thrills was when I could use a regular old tape measure!!!!!! It was a great milestone!!!!! (I have lost 150 pounds in 10 months!!!!!!!! )

I've heard people talk of tape measurer problems before and I suggested that they use a string, then measure the string with a yard stick.
