Hi Deborah! I myself have a Greenfield Vena Cava Filter. I carry a card that says I have one. It was inserted in the right side of my neck when I had surgery. On the card it says, "is a permanently implanted titanium device placed in the inferior vena cava for the control of pulmonary embolism." My surgeon uses it on patients that are 500lbs or more at date of surgery. Email me anytime at [email protected] Take care!! : )
