My daughter, Karlie, had surgery on a Thursday and had her staples out that Sunday before she left the hospital

I had a LAP RNY on Aug 16. My staples were removed on the 22nd in his office. It was painless.

The doctor removed half of my staples while I was still in the hospital on postop day 4 and the remainder were removed at his office on postop day 8. He put steri-strips (they kind of look like 2 inch x 1 inch pieces of stapping tape) across the incision were he removed the first half of the staples. I was tol to remove the pieces of tape on postop day 12. Hope this helps. PS: Removal is not painful.
