Question:
Is there anyone else suffering problems 5yrs after op?
Although initially op was a great success. Since losing 7 stone in the first year weight loss has stopped. I am unable to eat properly as with most things I vomit and suffer great pain. It wouldn't be so bad if I was still losing weight but as I would still like and need to lose another 5 stone I am very disappointed and very angry that I have gone through all this for nothing. Can anyone advise or help me? — Karen W. (posted on March 4, 2000)

What surgery type did you have? There are alot of such stories about with
people who had VBG? Just wondering.

I assume you have been followed up by your physician. Are you drinking
enought water (very important)! Are you getting required protein, eating
low fat? Are you exercising regularly? Are you chewing your food
properly? If after reasessing these things, and you feel you are doing
everything right, and still having these problems, then I would suggest
seeing your physician. Jeanie

No I did not receive any post-op follow up and on consulting doctor about
the various problems I have been treated for ulcers and for acid reflux. I
am desperate but because this op is relatively rare over here it is very
difficult to get referred. I had stapling which I have discovered from this
website is not very successful. Someone please tell me what to do now. I
can't eat properly, I'm not losing weight, and I am so tired.

Karen... you didnt indicate what type of surgery you had. Please email my

types of WLS. His name is Dr. Aniceto Baltasar. His email address is
