Question:
Have any of you had the tens unit used on you for post-op pain relief?
If you have, what was your experience? My surgeon always uses the tens unit to help with the pain and I have never heard of this procedure before. — Kati B. (posted on August 12, 1999)

I had a tens unit and it seemed to help. You can crank up the relief as
you see fit. There's a little control box that you adjust according to
your pain. Good Luck!

Tens therapy is great and very easy to use,you are in control.Small pads
are fixed around the painful area with gel. They are connected to a small
battery whose level control you alter according to the level of pain you
are experiencing.I've used them for pleuric pain, broken rib and severe back
pain as I am allergic to most oral pain killers.
Some folks get more relief than others ,but good positioning of the pads is
essential.Go for it ,all the best
Lesley.
