Question:
Are there doctors that perform the Fobi's Pouch procedure, other than at Dr. Fobi's clinic?

I received some information about 10 months ago from a Dr. by the name of Norman Samuels in Ft. Lauderdale I think. He does a procedure very similar to the "Fobi Pouch." That is the only one in the southeast that I have received info from that I can recall was doing a similar procedure. He is on the Web so you can find his site and order information online directly or you can find his address at the site of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons.

I had my surgery done by Dr. Oscar Lirio, Schenectady NY. I realize this isn't southeastern US, but he does follow Dr. Fobi's teachings and he is very, very good.

I just heard from a reliable source (Husted's Egroup) that Dr. John Husted will add Lap Fobi to his surgery types in November.. YEA!! My daughter wants same surgery as mine and same surgeon, however, wanted LAP.. So her prayers have been answered.. :-) <p> Open RNY with Fobi Pouch on 12/8/99 Beginning weight 367 as of this past Monday 203.. However, I'll weigh this Sunday and I'm hoping I'm under 200 now.. I just came from a NEW "Fobi Pouch" Support group in Broken Arrow (by Tulsa).. Dr. Fobi sent a representative from California along tapes, literature and T-shirts with the Fobi Surgery Diagram on the back.. We all had a great support talk lots of similar stories and laughs The oldest "Fobi" in the group was over 3 years post-op and her beginning weight was 340 now 133.. The newest Fobi was almost 3 months post-op and has lost 75 pounds so far. All of these patients traveled to Calif. for the procedure.. Now the good news as of April Dr. Luis Gorospe, Tulsa Oklahoma, will now offer the "Fobi Procedure" After many numerous requests for it.. I met a young lady there that will be his first Fobi patient April 4th after hearing all of our stories she is so excited to get this show on the road and I'm so thrilled for her... My beginning weight was 367 on 12/8/99 Dr. John Husted, Nasville, TN (Fobi Pouch) My now weight is 159.
