Question:
Which one should I do first.. plastic surgery or partial knee replacement surgery?
I guess it is kinda of silly to ask you but I have to make sure.. Ha.. I don't know what to do to go first with the plastic surgery or partial knee replacement surgery.. I want to have a total body lift.. I will need one knee to be fixed and I wonder if I decide to have the knee surgery first, will the leg lift up smoothly with no excess skins on the calf and whole leg if my knee scar is stitched to the muscle.. Know what I mean?? I need to know which knee surgery or plastic surgery for the total body lift to be done first?? Please will you answer this?? Thanks I love you all!!!! I have had both knees and my right ankle re-built. I have screws
everywhere. I need a body lift. I would go with the knee first. But you and
your Dr need to decide together. Knee surgery will not help with saggy
skin, but it will help with post op exercise and movement. Best wishes -

Hi, I had my right knee replaced in 2000, had my gastric bypass in May 2002
and my tummy tuck in March of this year and now I'm scheduled to see a
surgeon about my left knee being replaced. They told me if I had the
gastric first I probably would never have had to have the knee surgery.
Personally I believe I would get the knees done first. Happy thoughts
coming your way. You have a big decision to make and I wish you the very
best. Susy

Danette,
Having had knee surgeries, I sincerely doubt that the scar tissue from that
will be a problem with the plastics. They don't stitch the muscle to the
skin, just stitch the skin closed. My RNY scar moves around my belly just
fine, so I'm sure your knee scar will as well. I would fix the knee first,
then move on to plastics.

I had knee surgery in 2000 and GBS in 2003. I vote for the knee surgery
first. That way when you do the body lift, they can fix the skin at the
knee. My knee is a little baggier where I had the knee surgery than the
'good' knee. I too am hoping plastics will fix this.
