South Beach claims you can lose 14 pounds in two weeks. It's a good
program. I would go that route. Good luck.

I was up against this too. I had to lose 14 pounds before my surgery, or
risk being canceled (my surgeon's policy is to stay at the same weight you
were at consult). High-protein, low-carb is the quickest way I found, but
still the weight was very stubborn, and I was sweating it out until the
very last day. I even went to all liquids for a few days before my pre-op
appt. Losing those few pounds before surgery was difficult, but it can be
done. Best wishes. Lap RNY 9/11/03, 270/176/???

My doctor had me on a liquid diet of (7) cans/day of ensure/carnation
breakfast/ or boost for 2 weeks prior to surgery. I didn't cheat and lost
15 pounds. Hope this helps

I went on Atkins and lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. You don't want to be weak
for your surgery. This was an excellent way to lose it. I would eat eggs
and bacon for breakfast or an Atkins shake, chef or chicken salad for lunch
or another shake, and a box of Tyson hot and spicy chicken wings with ranch
dressing for dinner. The weight fell off! You are wise to lose the weight
before surgery. I am convinced that my dieting before hand helped my
recovery be speedy! Best of luck to you!

I had to go through the same thing and then had to maintain the weight loss
until surgery. I did the South Beach diet and lost the 20 pounds I needed
to lose. Basically cutting out the carbs and eating protein. Good luck to
you!!
