Question:
Has anyone had gastritis?

I just found out that I have it, and I am scared that it will mean that I can't have the surgery. I have read up on it, but if anyone can calm my mind about this, that would be great! Thanks    — [Deactivated Member] (posted on April 13, 2004)

Amber, When the surgeon did my EGD before my surgery, he found out I had gastritis. It was probably from the Volteran (Anti-inflammatory medicine) I took for muscle pain in my right arm. He gave me pepcid and that cleared it up and I had my surgery 5 months later. The main cause of gastritis is NSAIDS- or anti-inflammatory medicine the surgeon told me.

Hi I have had that before, your surgeon should put you on a course of antibiotics before surgery for about two weeks than after that clears up then they should be able to go ahead with it jsut fine so don't woryy tooo much! good luck to you!
