Question:
I have been experiencing pain in my stomach on the right side . . .
It happens at the end of the day especially if I am standing or walking a lot. I am 8 weeks post op so I faithfully still wear my binder but decided to do an experiment today, I went binderless and had no pain. It feels like the binder is pushing on something inside and it makes it tender. Has anybody else had this? — Diane S. (posted on December 28, 2003)

Denise I experienced the same pain on my right side - which is why I
started wearing a binder or tummy support. My doc said it was a muscle
strain, it hurt so bad I did not believe him, but he turned out to be right
- as he and my nutritionist predicted, it took a long time to recover. It
felt like some part of my body was detached from me and it moved if I bend
down, and it seemed the binder pushed it back. After almost 3 weeks the pain
is completely gone. Of course you should discuss it with your doctor or
nutritionist.

I am 14 months out now, but when I was about 8 weeks, I got the same pain.
I was convinced I had a tumor or a hernia. But my dr. told me the same as
yours and the pain did eventually go away. First I had it multiple times a
day, then it would taper off to every couple days. Then I would go for
weeks at a time without pain. The next thing I new I was at about 4 months
out and that pain was gone. It does get better. Hang in there!
